Food Pantry & Thrift Store

Food Pantry

Food Pantry

United Ministries' Food Pantry offers food, toiletries, and personal hygiene items to eligible clients. It is independently operated and stocked via food drives & individual donations. Clients are able to access the Food Pantry once a month any time during program hours (Monday-Friday 9 AM-12 PM). No appointments are necessary.

USDA Commodities

UM supplements the Food Pantry by providing food items through the USDA commodities program. Eligibility for this program is based on income and household size. Eligible clients can pick up commodities once a month from a distribution site.

Thrift Store

Thrift Store

Our Thrift Store stocks: clothing, household items, and furniture. The Thrift Store is open to the public and operates Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 9 AM-Noon and Saturdays 9 AM-1 PM. Clients in need of items they cannot afford in the Thrift Store are welcome to speak to a case manager during regular program hours.

Case Management

Case Management

Every client who comes in is required to meet with a case manager. This person will listen to a client's needs and discuss whether UM can help, what we can do, and any other community resources available to manage the current emergency situation and/or meet long-term needs. The goal for each client is self-sufficiency.

Tenant-Based Rental Assistance

TBRA is a program that helps individual households afford housing costs such as rental & utility deposits. Clients must be able to pay their own rent before being eligible for TBRA.

KY Hearth Grant

Kentucky's Housing and Emergency Assistance Reaching the Homeless (KY HEARTH) program is federal assistance that helps prevent individuals and families from becoming homeless and those who are experiencing homelessness to be quickly re-housed and stabilized . UM helps administers these funds in Northern KY. For questions or to inquire about eligibility, please contact us (859-727-0300).

Medical assistance

UM provides financial assistance with prescriptions, doctor's appointments, and other medical supply needs based on resources available at the time. To inquire about receiving assistance, please call us (859-727-0300) to make an appointment.
